Forms with non-editable fields containing user data

It would be useful to have the ability to show contact data in a field on a form that cannot be edited to remove the problem of contacts forwarding emails to other people who then click through to a form and overwrite the existing details with their own, thinking that they are creating a new entry.

How will this idea be used?

We use forms that prepopulate with contact details for events and find that invitees forward their invitation email to a colleague/friend who then clicks on the RSVP link. They overwrite the data on the form with their own information thinking that this will result in them having RSVP'd.

This results in their name, surname, email and more overwriting the details of the original contact.

In the ideal scenario the contact could edit mobile number, dietary requirements and venue attending but would not be able to edit their name, surname and email address.

Agreed and voted! You can use Javascript to do this but this would be custom so would be nice to have as a standard feature particularly for drag and drop forms.

In the meantime you could try adding a, "Not you? Click here to register option to the design of your landing page which leads to a duplicated form without prepoulation.
