Make Conversion Tracking Easier To Implement

Having been on the platform for a couple of years now, I still am unable to get any conversion tracking data in WCA.  My development team says that if I supply the custom code, they can implement it.  The help in WCA helpdesk offers sample code that needs to be customized.  Google Analytics can track a conversion without custom modified code, why can't WCA?

How will this idea be used?

By making it easier or automatic to receive the conversion data from email clicks, this data can then be used to further segment and personalize the emails sent to customers that actually complete a transaction vs a person who just clicks through to the website.

    Depending on how you capture your order data today, there may be a couple of options that may work for you:  For example, importing the order data into a Relational table or by using custom webtracking on your order confirmation page. See this article for more information on how to implement web tracking. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSWU4L/Reporting/imc_Reporting/Reporting_q_a_watson_assistant/How_do_I_implement_Conversion_tracking_u39.html   Then you could query on that data and use Programs to send message based on that criteria, Programs allows you to use queries as your contact source and use rules within a program to  interact with customers who convert.

     Thank you for the comment Diane.  The items listed in the linked article have already been done with the exception of the Custom Code that would send order contents to the WCA platform. 

    All I currently need is to have it register in my mailing reporting that there was a conversion to indicate the level of success of a mailing.  For two years I have had zero conversion reported in WCA.  I get opens and clicks.  I even get navigation / pages visited.  I'm just missing that one piece that says they actually converted based on them clicking on that email.  GA shows conversions in the email channel, so I know that people are making purchases, it's just more difficult to make a reporting correlation between the conversion and the email that way.  Plus if the conversion doesn't register to WCA I have no way segmenting/querying based on those that convert vs those that just open or click.  WCA is the 3rd ESP that we have used during my time here (nearly 15 years), and it is the first that we have been unable to get conversion results from.
