Change Database Source in Programs

It would be good to change the contact source of a program from one database to another.

How will this idea be used?

For systems with multiple databases we may want to copy a program and switch the audience to another database.  This would also faciliatate having a test or seed database that could be used to check the program works correctly before switching to a live database.

Thank you for the idea. One of the challenges of this request is that different databases have different columnIDs for each db field. To change a database, would require re mapping the fields from List A to List B. Otherwise things like personalizattion, dynamic content results, profile and behavior rules etc associated to list A would not work as expected. How would you prefer or expect us to help you manage this?

I would require the same id columns to be present in both databases.

If a flexible database is involved then the id should be declared in the program settings.

Hi Diane. Yes, as the member below suggested, I would expect that both databases would have to have the same columns, or have the option to map them in at the point of switching sources, like when carrying out a manual import update.
