SelectRecipientData API is use to get consumer information based on search criteria, however it returns both Opted In and Opted Out records. As Opted out records are not required for any manipulation, we will require to filter them out and get only Opted In records. There is no other API to get these records and no option to filter out Opted out records from this API. In SelectRecipientData API, an additional parameter can be added to specify weather we need to include all the records only Opted In or only Opted Out records. This was use will have the option to extract the records they needed.
Currently only Opted out date can be used to identify the opted out record, but that is also not enough. There are cases where Opted out date is set but record current status is Opted In. There should be a clear identification of opted In and opted out records.
How will this idea be used?
When a new record is created, we use this API to get existing record based on different fields and set multiple statuses for the new records based on results. This will reduce the additional checks while processing the records and time to complete the process will also reduced.
