New robust APIs for Programs

Unfortunately even new performance insights is still at very basic level of reporting, so we have to use external BI tool to do all our analysis on mailings. But current APIs are combersome and there is no API to report on mailings sent from Programs which is the primary tool for us. Manual workaround with 'i' below is manual and non-scalable. 

Neither there is a way to know what exact message was sent to a recepient with all dynamic content and personalizations used, so hopefully this request can be used to expand APIs in general.

"Unfortunately, there is not an API that will provide mailing metric details for mailings that are in a WCA Program. To view those specific details, the Program Workaround article I provide is the way to view specific mailing metrics."

How will this idea be used?

We need to be able to analyze details of each mailing, standalone or from Program, incl. a list of contacts that DID NOT open/click.

    Thank you for your feedback. While we currently fall short on your direct ask for more robust APIs for reporting on Programs, Performance Insights can at least report on mailings sent from Programs, then you could download Sent Volume for example in a CSV file. You may already know how to do this, but in case it's relevant to you or anyone else sees this post, I've attached a few screenshots.

    Step 1. Either when creating a new workspace from a template or editing an existing one, you could set the date range and filters to narrow in on Programs as a Mailing Type. 

    Step 2. You can further narrow results with other filters such as Mailing Names if you have a certain naming convention.

    Step 3. Then once this is set, you can add widgets or edit existing ones from the templates by clicking on the 3 dots at the top right corner of each widget. This is also where you can download a CSV file for each widget.

    Step 4. Usually the Primary Dimension is a function of time (hour, day, week, month, year), then you could also use other filters like Mailing Name as the primary filter. In this example, I used a line graph for the many mailings on narrowed in one week with Days of the Week as the primary dimension.

    Step 5. When you Update or Save As on the widget, it takes you back to the dashboard where you could scroll over the individual line (Mailing) to see Sent Volume or other metrics.

    Again, this does not fully satisfy your requirement especially since Performance Insights currently displays aggregated data and not customer specific level data yet (ie. list of contacts that DID NOT open/click), but that is on the roadmap for the future.
