Remove bot clicks from reporting

As institutions add more security to their email systems, marketers need to know that their email metrics (opens and clicks, etc.) are being generated by actual human customers and not security bots that are clicking on every link to check for viruses, inflating metrics, which effects business decisions

    Hello Brian,

I know you've been experiencing this for some time now and could certainly understand your frustration. This has been prioritized and we are actively working on the fix. We have been talking with Rohit and Mark about this and should have more information in a couple of weeks. I'll be sure to follow up with you all then.

    Thank you for your patience,

    Chris

I find it somewhat concerning that this topic has not received more votes. Could it be that many marketers are not privy to this information... yet? Through my investigations i have found that there are three very distinctive types of click bots. 1. Those that click the fist link in the text email only. 2. Those that click links in both html and text email all with the same time stamp 3. Those that click all links with the same time stamp. I am in the processes of creating a 1 pixel image link at the top of  all my emails set to "spnotrack" to catch the filter that is clicking all those 1st links. They are my biggest problem. I suspect Barracuda and Symantec are using this style. But as for the others... Couldn't WCA create the logic to filter out the above criteria. If the concern is to inadvertently exclude human clicks, the fist step could be to add this as an option in reporting. Or perhaps add an extra set of columns to the already existing reports called "bot-filtered unique clicks" and "bot-filtered unique opens". The other option could be to create a report that provides a list of suspect contacts where we your customer can then choose to suppress. This would provide another type of insulation for WCA against inadvertently negating genuine human clicks.  All of my clients are aware of this issue and it is very important to them to maintain healthy lists.
