Establish means to include BCC/CC email address options

Currently, there is no means to include CC or BCC entities on an email. This is because WCA must send to a system email field; however, WCA has allowance for just one system email field. We often have individuals and business that are going through a program where it would be beneficial and fully legal to include a copy to mutual third parties so they can also be aware of where this individual is in the program/process. We’ve attempted many work-a-rounds, to no avail. Seems like it would be acceptable to simply have an ability to populate an email address in another database field/column and allow it to be a bcc/cc on the sends. However, because of the system email field limitations, this currently does not work.

    I couldn't agree more with this! The fact that BCC functionality has to be paid for and CC functionality is not possible is horrible!

     

    It would be perfect if we could BCC the email address of the person who took our lead.

     

    For example, we email our lead (Email X) and BCC our employee (Employee Email Y). This would ensure our ability to then thread conversations if the lead replies off the back of any of the emails we send.

    Or just CC!

    This has recently become a challenge for us as well with the extension out to Transactional messages via Transact. BCC and MyCopy would not deliver what is a requirement for Carbon Copy (CC).

    BCC does exist in the platform today. It is an add-on as it is a true duplicate of the email that was sent with an exact replica of all personalization.

    Hi Beth - that is not the functionality I am seeking. I want an ability to copy "Person-A-Representative" on messages sent to "Person-A" but not to "Person-B" or "Person-C". In a failed attempt to make that happen, we were advised to turn on the feature you mention. It resulted in 70K+ emails getting sent internally and thus delaying our inbound and outbound email delivery substantially for the better part of a day due to the strain it put on our Exchange Server.

    The BCC feature as it is designed could add a significant strain the the mail server.- as it is truly a copy of all emails sent. For example, one send to 70K contacts results in a duplicate copy sent to the email server all at once. So 70K emails would hit that BCC email address- and the email server all at once. Depending on the BCC email domain and it's correlating email server rules/balancing- those duplicate messages could easily bounce and not be recovered- and cause more havoc with regular emails.

    None the less- that's not important in your request here.
