Add support for HTML5 input types in custom forms

I would like to use the HTML5 input types (type="email", type="tel", type="date") so that it will pull up the correct keypad on mobile devices. Right now changing the type (to type="email" for example), results in Watson not recognizing the field and removing it from the mapping and ability to auto populate it. It will only work with the value of type="text".  I would really like to be able to use all the HTML5 input types to increase usability on our forms. So instead of this:

<input id="control_EMAIL" class="medium" name="Email" label="Email" tabindex="3" title="Enter your valid email address here." type="text" aria-required="true" placeholder="Email:*" required />

I would like to be able to use this:

<input id="control_EMAIL" class="medium" name="Email" label="Email" tabindex="3" title="Enter your valid email address here." type="email" aria-required="true" placeholder="Email:*" required />

How will this idea be used?

Allowing us to set the field inputs to the correct HTML5 type will improve the completion of forms on mobile apps. See https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2019/01/html5-input-types/ for examples of how using these fields render on mobile devices.
