Re-usable Program Metadata within Programs

Suppose I have a program called "Summer Offers". And I tag it with 2 tags: "seasonal" and "loyalty". Now, I am creating my steps within the program, and I want to use the Update Profile step to write down "loyalty" in one of the fields. Today I have to do thism manually. I cannot grab "metadata" from the campaign and use it as a parameter to update profile. It would be super useful to have this as a parameter within the "universe" of the program. Makes programs truly more "multi-channel" by being able to re-use common metadata amongst different channels and actions.

How will this idea be used?

Same use case as described before. Within programs. Having program tags or start and end dates or even the program name available to send them as a parameter to other systems would help the multichannel strategy.

    Another way this could be leveraged ... Say you use a similar program template for multiple events (or you reuse the same program). A simple example is a program which is used to support an event might contain steps such as:

    • Thank you for registering email
    • Event reminder and logistics email
    • Thank you for attending email

    All the creative is the same except there are elements that have to be updated like:

    • Event date
    • Event name
    • Event address
    • Event webpage URL

    Making these attributes available as program level metadata makes it easy to update the program for the next event. These values could be personlized into the email creative or used for trigger values/decisions.
